Thyrolar 50 is a synthetic version of the thyroid hormone. It replaces the hormones that the thyroid gland cannot produce in sufficient quantity, relieving symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Thyrolar 50mcg Tablet is used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland) by replacing the insufficiently produced thyroid hormones and regulating the body's energy and metabolism. It may also be prescribed for TSH suppression and myxoedema coma.

Pregnancy Category A. Pregnancy may increase Levothyroxine requirements. Although Thyroid hormones are excreted only minimally in human milk,caution should be exercised when it is administered to a nursing woman.However, adequate replacement doses of Levothyroxine are generally needed to maintain normal lactation.
